Credit Debt Paid

Credit cards are the convenient, portable, easy to access form of capital of choice for many Americans.  The debt accrued with these cards can be acceptable; credit card companies certainly want you to use them. However, once these cards are maxed out, your credit rating begins to suffer.  Responsible credit use mandates low balances that are paid off on a regular basis.

That doesn‘t mean that things don‘t get out of control sometimes.  Cash flow becomes strained, emergencies arise, and suddenly, a consumer finds themselves in intensive credit debt.  Getting out of this debt is easier said than done. Customers are aware of the need to pay off the debt, but how to do so is a different matter all together.  It is best to start paying off cards with the lowest balance. Work your way up the credit card debt chain. Keep on this path until all of the credit debt has been eliminated. Don’t expect it to be a fast process; it may be slow and painful. Don’t forget, slow and steady wins the race.

Don’t forget…

There’s some behaviors to avoid when fostering healthy credit behavior. Don‘t fall into the tempting pattern of using the credit cards again once they‘ve been paid off.  This becomes cyclical, and the circular pattern of debt combined with rising interest rates can get you into a lot of trouble.  Discipline is the name of the game when it comes to responsible credit behaviors.

If you‘re having issues with this, try giving the cards to someone you trust and live with for safekeeping. If you don’t have them, you can’t spend with them  Get everything paid off, and only once you feel you can trust yourself, ask for the cards back. Don’t forget to thank your good friends for their help! It may seem next to impossible, but evading credit debt is within reach.
